A Surprise Request

As a teacher, I listened carefully.

At then end of one lesson this week, an eleven year old girl by the name Immaculate, a grade 3 student, decided to see me one on one. She wanted to talk with me in person. As a teacher, I listened to her carefully. She said "Mr Sule why if we enter in the computer lab we see already the computers are powered on? So my request as student of Mnazi Mmoja, I need to know how to connect the CPU and the Monitor."

Learning How Things Work

I think we have a hacker in the making.

I was really really excited. I am happy that the kids are now moving from wanting to just know how to use the machines to wanting to understand the connection and what makes them powered on. I think it's time we move from letting them come to class and find the devices already powered on to showing them what really keeps the computer on. I think we have a hacker in the making.
